Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actor. Doody made her acting debut in the Bond film, A View to a Kill in 1985. In 1989, she played the archaeologist who was sympathetic to Nazis Elsa Schneider in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). A photographer approached Doody. Doody began to model, which turned into a career in commercial modelling. Doody was extremely strict about not doing glamorous or sexually explicit work. This rule extended into the acting profession. Once she caught the attention of the director of casting in a James Bond movie, she was cast of A View to a Kill as Jenny Flex. Doody made an appearance as a character in John Willis Screen World Volume 2. She was one of twelve promising actors to be cast in 1986. 38. Doody, at 18-years-old as she played the character of Doody in Bond, was and is still the most youthful Bond girl until today. in 1987 Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying where she played IRA Member Siobhan Donovan. Doody was an actress in silent films in the 1987 version of The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream bride Lilias. She performed the role of Sapsorrow in the episode of Jim Henson's fantasy series The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan, in the 1988 film Taffin. In the following film, she played her biggest role yet in the film Taffin as Austrian Nazisympathiser and Archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider playing alongside Harrison Ford. Doody appeared alongside Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. Doody played the role in the British mini-series Selling Hitler with Jonathan Pryce. It was based on the Hitler Diaries publication scam. Then she moved to Hollywood. She starred as Flannery on the screen in Major League II, opposite Charlie Sheen. After nearly a decade from screen Doody came back to acting, by playing a minor role in the 2003 British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the awards ceremony scene. In 2004, she appeared with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She also appeared in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 pamphlet on the Holocaust. Doody filming a character in the film of Danny Dyer, The Rapture. She guested in RTE's medical drama The Clinic. The project was later shelved. In 2011, she started the first season of two on the E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. She was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way, a 2014 film.
