Mary McDonnell

 

Mary Eileen McDonnell was born April 28, 1952. She is an American stage actor, film and television star. Her roles in Dances with Wolves, Stands With A Fist and Passion Fish saw her receive Academy Award nominations. McDonnell is best known for her roles in Battlestar Galactica as President Laura Roslin as well as First Lady Marilyn Whitmore, and Rose in Donnie Darko. McDonnell was seen as Captain Sharon Raydor on seasons 5-7 of TNT's television series The Closer. She also appeared on Major Crimes, the spin-off show on TNT's network, as the Commander Sharon Raydor.
